barnum effects occur often, especially when people tend to predict/tell one's character/personality (eg HOROSCOPES). barnum effect: vague so that everyone can relate to it on some level.

went out with my family yesterday, zomg i am totally a mommy's girl. she spoilt me as usual, bought me a PRETTY bronze/gold/brown charles&keith bag, loads of groceries, contacts & insisted on giving me $$ (though i tried pushing it back to her a few times!).
